Bravepoint Kennel is an independant online store for pet transportation cages, run from Ottawa Canada. As hardcore dog enthusiasts, the owners Norman LeCouvie and his wife Gail Docherty wanted to provide dog owners with the safest transportation equipment available on the market.

Challenge

Turn Business Idea Into Fully Functioning Online Store

Norman came to the table with a new business idea. He wanted to build an online store to sell crash-tested transportation cages to dog lovers. These are people who are most likely to undertake long-distance or frequent driving with their pets. He knew what to sell and to whom, he just didn’t know how.

Solution

A Turn-Key E-Commerce System That Is Good To Go

We took care of all the technicalities: store setup, stock management, shipping, store design and content. Norman was able to start selling his products in under a month! In addition we provided Norman with a tutorial session, making sure that he will have no difficulties managing his store in the future.

In the end we delivered a fully functioning mobile-friendly online store with clean user-centric design that Bravepoint customers definitely found appealing. A short time after launch, the store had it’s first customer and Norman had his first sale.

Choosing the right transportation cage isn’t as straightforward as one might think. Vehicles (and dogs) come in many shapes and sizes. There were many product variations. That’s why we make sure that all the information customers need to know prior to making a purchase stands out and is easily accessible at any stage of their buying process.
By adding helpful infographics, charts and intuitive navigation, we made sure that customers will have all the information they need to choose the right product for their needs.

Custom Shipping Solution

Shipping is one of the trickier parts of setting up an online store. That was especially true for Bravepoint: many of his products are so bulky that they needed to be shipped under specially negotiated carrier rates. The system also needed to allow for free local pickup so customers could avoid the cost and delay of shipping. Norman challenged us to find a way for him to offer the best shipping rates for all of his products, without confusing his customers with over-complicated checkout options.
By identifying the owner’s needs, and consulting with Shopify support, we were able to come up with custom shipping solution for Bravepoint, keeping the shipping options simple for the customers, while maximizing deals he negotiated with shipping carriers.
